The Hwarang Hangang Chapter was established in 2023 as a volunteer club with 27 members in grades 9 through 12 run by students. With the core value of "practicing service for the local community" in mind, the chapter has initiated long-term and short-term volunteer activities to promote a strong sense of community and sense of responsibility.

The Hangang Chapter took part in influential service activities in various fields such as the environment, education, and welfare this year. In Seocho-gu's Zero Carbon  Shop campaign, members collected and donated eight types of clean reusable items within the span of a month, making tiny but influential attempts to protect the environment. Geumcheon Dream House members visited twice a month to learn and play with local children, promoting emotional bonding. Their efforts led them to receive a Certificate of Appreciation from the Participatory Labor Welfare Center. They further supported the creation of alternative books in the Seoul Welfare Center for the Visually Impaired, promoting information accessibility among visually disabled people. Members also provided English and Korean lessons to Ukrainian, Vietnamese, and Malaysian students via online tutoring classes, which encouraged international solidarity and worldwide cultural exchange.

For short-term service, the chapter attended the Hanam-si Para Rowing Indoor Championship, assisting in the running of events and gaining valuable experience in community involvement. The entire set of events was possible as a result of the active, voluntary work of student members, all of whom have gained leadership and an increased level of responsibility through service.

In the future, the Hwarang Hangang Chapter will continue to be a bridge between communities here and overseas, striving to build a good society through meaningful volunteer service. We act, grow, and move forward together as a community of young difference-makers.
